i hate having to ask for help with things like this..
94 civic ex coupe (abs)
OBD0 JDM B16
just finished my swap, threw the OBD1 harness on the motor, filled it up and fired right up. throwing a solid cel code, even when jumping the 2-pin connector.
- Idles steady at 1500 at warmup, dropped to like 1000 once warm (a little high)
- Wont rev past 3500, however i tried to call the tuner i got the chip from to ask if it had launch control
- The tuned chip was from a USDM B16 from a 2000 si
my ideas:
read up a little bit and suspect the MAP sensor could be bad? the motor sat for a good 2 years before i just fired it up tonight. COULD be the ECU, but i highly doubt it, unless i burned the chip incorrectly.. but wouldn't it not even start/run if it was the ECU?

so your using a obd0 ecu in a obd1 car? that may have something to do with it. If you think it might be the map sensor turn the key to the "on" position and unplug the map and see the cel changes. Some jdm ecus have traction control and that will cause a cel i believe. I seen one time where a guy had a solid cel and his ecu was bad

no its a chipped p28 that ive had in every honda i've owned for the last 3-4 years. thats why i highly doubt its the ecu that's bad. i'll try unplugging the map.

huh. that's weird.
it was the ecu. maybe i just burned the chip wrong or something? i still find it weird it still ran/idled just fine like that.
switched to a spare ecu (d15) i had an now its throwing a code (vtec[haven't run wiring] and 41)
unfortunately, i feel real dumb now.

but yeah seems like you got this sorted out. Are you gonna need a whole new ecu or what? Phearable.net sells nice chipped ecu's for whatever you want and they sell you the ones you can burn yourself too.
