MAP Sensor Issue
Ok, so me and a friend just finished swapping a B16 into his 95 EX coupe and everything is running fine with the exception of the MAP Sensor. I even took my MAP sensor off my B16 and put it on his to see if it was bad or not and the CEL still came on even after I reset the ECU. Now the weird thing is after I reset the ECU the engine idles low and then about 45 seconds into idling it shoots up to anywhere between 2000 - 2500 rpms then it throws the CEL code. Could it be that when a vaccum leak occurs it sets off the CEL?

have you jumped the ecu for the code?

you should read a code 3 or 5. one of those is a code for the actual map being bad, the other is for a vacuum leak. i don't remember which one since it's been awhile, but most likely it's a vacuum leak.

Yea, when the vaccum leak first occurs it then throws a code five. So do you think it is throwing a code due to the vaccum leak?

well, if you swapped out the map sensor with the one off your car and yours is still good, then i would say it's throwing the code due to a vaccum leak.
