When do an mpfi swap is is neccesary to switch the fuel line coming from the fuel filter-fuel rail?

For some reason I remember hearing that. Is that correct? If so, why?

it has the same size banjo fitting and is long enough to reach the new fuel rail location.

no need to change it.
