So for the past 3 years I've had my si's painted black, just used 94cent wal mart spray paint, 2 have a couple small chips and 2 look freshly painted, very shocked that wal mart garbage held up to 3 years of abuse. I'm currently strippin them and polishing the face of the wheels.
Does anyone know any rattle can clear/protective coating that will hold up and protect my hand polished mirror finish? (Will post before, during, and after pics if you guys like) also, I'm considering doing the insides of the pie pieces/spokes either a black chrome or a bronze color. Give me some feedback! TIA!

I didn't put clearcoat on mine and they still have that mirror finish after a year and a half. I think clearcoat will make it worse and will give it that faded look after awhile and it's gonna be harder to clean.
If you really wanna put clearcoat, don't rattle can it.

Yeah I was thinking about that, you are probably correct, I use house of kolors and ppg on smaller more lower budget projects. Didn't want to spend a lot of money and have the clear get busted up.
Any suggestions on colors for inside of spokes?

I had mine painted with the same color as the rim.

But I think gunmetal would make it pop out more.

It's a custom decal.
But you can buy a better one.

Awesome. Will definitely be gettin a set of those, still deciding which color. Will post pics when complete thought
Another way to seal the aluminum is a product called Zoops Seal. It's used pretty regularly in the street rod industry. Heard pretty good things about the stuff.

Will definitely check that out, polishing properly is a **** ton of work, so I want to keep it as low maintenance as possible, just like my women, low maintenance is good
