Eg cluster won't light up. Major help needed
I have a 92 Civic cx and I got a ex cluster from my buddy. The problem is that none of the background bulbs light up, for night time. But all the indicator ones work(turn signals, etc.)
I know you can swap them out so that I can have a tach. The cx cluster has three plugs:
-A vertical one on the right
-A yellow one at the bottom center
-A diagonal one on the top left.
The ex cluster has those three and a green one thats next to the yellow one. I don't have a green plug anywhere in my dash that can plug into it. Is this why my cluster won't light up? What is that for if anyone knows, and if that is not the problem, how do I fix this?
I already got new bulbs and still nothing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

the green plug is for cruise control and other stuff (dont worry). what you can do is change your bulbs from your original cluster. They should be located in the back. You can see them, they are brown bulbs, just twist them off. also you can swap the tach, Mph gauge and the Gas and temp gauge as well. make sure that the Cx cluster matches with the Ex cluster. Im not sure. I done this all ready with a EDM EG6 cluster. i took it apart and swapped everything back to my old EX cluster just because i wanted cruise control. The EDM EG6 cluster does not provide you with cruise control. here is a pic
I already tried swapping bulbs and the reason I got the ex cluster is b/c the cx doesn't have a tach and the gas needle is broken. Thanks for the help though about the plug. I'm guessing the ex cluster got wet or something so it don't work? Anyone else got a input
sorry to bring this back up but did u end up fixing this. because im having the same problem. the original cluster lights work but i swapped 2 other clusters and the background lights dont work. everything other light works. i checked and swapped the bulbs already. need help if u have already fixed this problem

my car is genuine eg6. swapped it out with another eg6 cluster and another normal aussie spec eg cluster with tacho. i might have to make a separate light circuit.
Somebody removed the dimmer switch and jumped the red wire to the black wire in the switch connector. Check the jumper wire or solder job of those two wires.
hey thanks for ur help. but i think i found the problem. eg6 never came with dimmer switch altogether. the wire circuit is different to my original cluster. the model no. of the circuit on my original cluster is HR-0145 whereas the two clusters i got is HR-0143. gonna go wrecker to try and find the circuit i need.
Check your brake lights bad bulbs somehow trust me the ground for those lights runs through the cluster also the dimmer switch and just check the bulbs. All were bad in my car when I had no dash lights.
