I don't have a CEL on, but i have been having some issues with my car so i thought i would try and pull the codes anyways. It is throwing code 21, which i believe has something to do with vtec. What are the causes of code 21, what should i check? It's a d16z6 engine. Thanks.

 

thats the VTEV spool valve code, so you'll need a new vtec solenoid basically. Try changing/checking the screen though. Take the solenoid off and the screens behind it, its like $16 for a new one

 

yeah try to change the screen first before you go and get a new vtec solenoid

 

check the wiring make sure my threw a code and the wire had gotten pinched....i have an extra on layin around i think
