Default water temp gauge as a tranny temp gauge?

long story short, i sold my one of my cars, bought a truck and now i need a tranny temp gauge in the truck for towing. before i sold my car, i took out my defi racer gauge (water temp) and was wondering if i can use it in my truck as a tranny temp gauge? the defi gauge goes from 100-300F and most trann temp gauges are 100-250. can this work??? thanks

a temp gauge is a temp gauge, it'll just be labeled wrong...as long as it is electrical I dont see it being a problem...if its mechanical the metal wire might not be long enough to route to the trans.
