$$$$$ is the issue. If you have money for a container, shipping expenses etc, then the rest should be easy.
x2 w/everyone else.
Why import the shell if you can purchase the clip and convert it to RHD???...seems like the path of least resistance...???

its just not the same.
you would have to find connections with people that had done this before if not.... join the military and ship the cars for free lol.

Thanks for the link!
I was looking in on importing a complete car from Japan, and it seems scetchy. You transfer the cost of the car to the seller and pay the container fee first based on the size of the car. Then you agree to pay any other fees that may come up during transport...So who knows what it would cost in the end.

woooooooooooooooooooooooooow, thanks for the link and the input. I wish there was someone who knew the process step by step. I am looking at the website now but dont see the process there.
I am actually an exporter of car parts from Japan, mostly in less container loads and full container loads. MY plan is to bring shells to the US for the US based customers. I know there are alot of people looking into this. However, the amount of effort and investment involoved scares everyone.
If anyone can share some of the more legal info, that would be very much appreciated. We already have a couple ITRs lined up and more are on the way. At the same time, we are doing the homework for the shells export as well. The other two shells were to be dismantled and sold out but it seems like we probably will not dismantle and would rather bring entire shells to end users.
Anyway, thanks for the info.
Here is the link to our first ITR. Its slightly modified but the over all condition is very good.

That is a nice shell with alot of parts missing. Our shells will be mostly complete with the exception of engines. Its going to be a long way before we bring the actual shells.
Thanks for the link.

been there don that....the problem is that there isn't enough profit margin to sustain a real business. Most of the times, you'll be lucky to just break even. In the early 2000's when "JDM" was rare, it was an alright business, but nowadays its just gotten too big to the point where you can actually find JDM parts cheaper in the States. Especially now with the dollar being weak against the yen, not too many good business opportunities...but more power to ya.
