JDM gauge cluster install q's please read if you have installed
ok i've searched all over. and well i'm a little perplexed. ok so i get my jdm cluster to replace my 91 si's cluster. find out i need a usdm b series electronic vss. get that minus the plug. pay extra for plug. go to take clusters apart to make jdm cluster read mph but guess what they won't line up! THE GAUGE FACES that is. wtf.... ok if i'm putting a usdm vss in my s1 tranny than it's gonna read in mph not kmph then right? so how do i get a usdm mph gauge face to fit my jdm cluster???? i'm thinking about modifying my usdm gauge face.. maybe that will work. any info would be greatly app. i've seen all the sites for installing the cluster but it's all in kmph and why the hell would i want to go through the trouble of redoing the odo.
hmm..i would think that the usdm and jdm VSS units would have the same output. the difference would just be in the gauge face..when i installed mine i just learned to read kph just like i read mph..
45 kph = roughly 25 mph
65 kph = roughly 35 mph
85 kph = roughly 45 mph
100 kph = roughly 60 mph
120 kph = roughly 75 mph
it's actually worked really well for me.

yup, the face plates of the speedo are different shapes, way different. or else everyone would be doing that. i tried to see if other face plates were swappable like the 88-91 preludes, or the 86-93 accords, or the 86-93 integras, but doesnt seem possible. only way to get a 9krpm tach and mph speedo is to get euro cluster. let us know if you figure something out.
