Default Brakes help

Hey, at the moment I'm in Iraq but when I get home a friend and I are going to re-do my 89 CRX Dx. One of the mods will be the full 90-93 integra brake swap. In the rear I know that I need to replace the trailing arms with full brake assembly, brake lines(integra), and the parking brake cable(90-91 CRX Si w/ rear disc). In the front I know I can relace the front knuckles w/ brake assembly and brake lines(integra). I'm also going to replace the m.c./booster(integra) and p.p.v.(40/40) with new/refurb. This is going to be a junkyard swap so I know I'm going to need to replace the bearings, bushings, pads, and rotors while rebuilding the calipers.

My questions are what year and vehicle struts/springs do I use(integra or CRX), what parts did I leave out(does everything listed bolt right up or will I need something else to make all these fit, and lastly I already have a master bushing set for an 89 CRX Dx, will it still fit or will I need to get another set of bushings? If so, which bushing kits will I need? Thanks in advance for your help .

spings and struts stay for the crx, 89-91. as far as the parts listed for the brakes you pretty much listed everything you'll need.

personally i wouldn't rebuild the calipers unless it gives you piece of mind. i've never had a bad set of calipers but that doesn't mean they're not out there.

and there aren't any bushings on the front spindle, only ball joints so just order those for an integra. i'm pretty sure they are the same for a civic/crx as well, but just in case order them for an integra.

on the rear the only bushing is the trailing arm bushing so if you have those which you are replacing then you can do one of two things. buy them for an integra and use the integra rear trailing arms. or you can take the brake assembly off of the integra rear trailing arm and install it on your crx one. it is a straight bolt on. you just need to remove 4 torque 50 bolts on the back and i believe it's like a 22mm or 24mm nut on the back as well. then of course remove the rotor and caliper as well. a little more work but at least you won't have to spring for new bushings if you already have them for a crx.

hope this helps. good luck.

Actually, it helps me very thank you!

Do you know if the nut on the back of the trailing arm, the one big one, is the same size as the axle nuts on the front?

Also, will the axles from the B18c-R fit right into the integra hubs or will I need to remove the dust ring on those just like the CRX?

Thanks again for your help!

it's smaller. it's either a 22mm, 24mm, or 26mm. one of three. sorry i don't know exact but it's been a while since i've had to do it.

and why are you getting integra axles??? if all your doing is the brake upgrade then your stock axles will be fine.

Ok, finding out the size won't be hard, thank you very much!

I know I won't be needing the axles for just the brake swap, but we're building up the whole car. I know for a fact that it's going to be a B18c but I'm just going to have to figure which one. I was originally going to go with the c-R, but maybe I'll just go with c-1, I'll have to figure that out.

If I remember right, late model JDM ITR axles are different (spline count? size?)...so if you go with a JDM ITR swap you might want to check up on the axle issue.

you're half correct. the jdm itr axle is a 36mm instead of a 32mm i believe. however that is only on the spindle side. all b series axles have the same slpine count on the transmission side.

to make things easy for you, just use 90-93 integra axles with a b series swap into an ef no matter which b series you decide to go with.
