Where is ECT sensor 2 located on Accord 4Dr LX 05?
Car: Accord 2005 4dr LX.
I have the check engine light on recently. I use the code scanner to check and it read the following codes:
P2185
P2183
P0111
P0128
I know it might be something wrong with the ECT sensor 2, but I don't know where that sensor located? Could someone here please kindly tell me or show me where I can find the diagram of the sensor location or a picture of the section?
Thanks,
Ba

its located at the bottom of the radiator. when you remove or replace it theres a o-ring that you should replace as well.
I still could not locate the ECT sensor 2 on my Accord 2005 4Cyl LX.
Is it on the left (driver side) or right side bottom of the radiator? Is easily accessible? If I replace the ect sensor 2, do I need to empty/refill the coolant fluid too?
I did the error scan and the following error codes.
P2185 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 2 Circuit high
P2183 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 2 Circuit Range/Performance
P0111 Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit Range/Performance
P0128 Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature
Anyone know what/where is the initial cause of these errors? I know it might be one triggered the other sensor to fail?
Thanks in advance for you help.

i think that is on the left said of the radiator no really sure but if u want u can replace the coolant and don't forget 2 replace the washer and all those codes may be cause because of the sensor once u replace the sensor u should b fine and don't forget 2 clear the codes
**** luck on that
**** luck on that
Thank you, redbull-1 for the attached detail page and tortuga89 for your thoughts and guidance. I will try to locate that sensor again when it's not too cold outside.
The check engine light was off for one day and it's on again.
Thanks again everyone.

dont forget to drain the coolant first before you remove the sensor. you will also have to remove the engine splash shield. to get better access to the sensor
Thanks HONDAPARTSMANMIKE for your helpful information. I still have not had a chance to find the ect sensor yet. It's still very cold out side and lots of snow on the ground and I don't have a garage.
Thanks everyone for your help.
Thanks everyone for your help.
Before you go replacing the ECT sensor, check for a loose connector or corrosion on the connector first (As mentioned in the attachment of my previous post). Especially, since you said it snows in your area, could be corrosion from moisture, road salt, etc. You may be able to clean the connector's electrical prongs with some electrical cleaner spray, etc.

if you have corrosion try to clean it with some kind of battery cleaner or sometimes brake or cabarator cleaner work to. you could also try and use a small pick to try can clean up the pins. try not to damage them.
The pins on the sensor probably corroded and broke off in the connector. If this happens, you need to repair the connector and also get a new sensor. I've seen this happen many times at work.
Have you been able to find the pins for the #2 ect anywhere? I have had no luck...we end up replacing the harness... fun fun
Thanks
Thanks
Hi
I have the same problem here with my civic 2006.
check engine light & codes: p2183, p2185, & p0111
My check engine light is randomely coming up and i guess it's simply a connector issue. (the light actually goes down by itself, without reseting it with my OBD2 reader).
I found this very interesting but the image is kind of not very clear to me

can anyone help me finding it
Thanks

Uh, as stated in the above posts, it located at the bottom of the radiator. Here is another picture.
