My friend wants to know if it would be safe to run a 200w amp to the stock sub in a 2006 civic si. I searched but couldn't find anything definite.

i wouldnt do that because the way it came from the factory is set up to push it at a certain wattage and if he did he would blow it

 

Yea, That's not a very good idea. Like "thadelsolryda" said the factory spec to run a free-air sub isn't that much wattage at all, just take the same amp and put a small 10" on it in the trunk to get way better results.
