Default Speaker fitment issues...please help.

Okay, so I was putting in some Infinti Kappa 692.9i series 6x9's in my girlfriends '02 EX coupe, and they don't clear the trunk springs. Even when raised about 3/8" with the included spacer. The guys at Crutchfield are sending me out some Alpine Type R 6x9's to replace the Infinity ones. He said the Alpines are a little less deep and the magnet is not quite as big in diameter. Hopefully they fit, but in case they don't, I would like to know what kind of 6x9's the EM people are rocking.

I wish i could give you some help with your problem, however i am just as curious. I have an 02 LX Sedan so im pretty sure we have 6.5 all around, instead of the rear 6x9 of the coupe. I was thinking about upgrading the speakers soon, so iwas curious what would be a good option. I want to hear this from people who have already used them in their civics, so we know they fit properly. Thanks.

Good. Those are the ones they are sending me to replace the Infinity's. Thank you for the info. BTW, how do the Alpines sound?

They sound better when they're hooked up to a small amp, but powered by a head unit should be sufficient enough for your girlfriend to enjoy listening to her music.

I said fvck it and took out the spring...hahahaha my 6x9's have the biggest magnet ever...but the trunk is mad heavy..But yes those will fit and they are alpine so they should sound good...see if you can get her like a 150 watt amp to make them a little clearler and louder
