Default d16z6 distributor question,,,,help.

what exactly is the difference between a 93 civic dx dist and a 94 d16z6 dist? does the p28 have to have the vtec dist? got my 90 civic running tonite obd1 but check engine lite is on. also, how do you check codes on obd0-obd1 conversions? so many questions, so little time.

The way you check the codes is by jumping the timing check connector that is located by the passenger side footwell.

when i turn on the key to the run position, without starting the motor, the engine cel comes on with the fuel pump, then goes off fo r a second, then comes back on and stays on. same way it does with it running. tried jumping the connector, didn't do anything. traced the wires and they are all hooked up correctly between the jumper and the computer. I guess I'm gonna have to go thru wire by wire and check everything again. any ideas? oh, I also tried pluggin in the 93 dx computer but cel did the same exact thing.
