need help with a f22a1
ok i took a f22a1 bottom end and took a f22b1 head on put it on and used the b1 head gasket i started it up it ran fine but when i was puttin water in,it started to come out in the front behind the header i put my finger down there and i felt a little hole thats in the head gasket and thats were the water was comming from?
the only thing i can say is to pull the head back off and check it because somtimes when u do that u gotta block ports. did everything on the head gasket line up with the block
That is a coolant jacket and needs to be plugged. Remove the cylinder head. Use a Tap and cut some threads in the cylinder head and install a plug. U could chance it a use JB weld, but its not a good idea. You also need to remove the oil restrictor that sits above the oil pressure sending unit passage. It is built into the cylinder head somewhere. If it is still there you will not have sufficient oil flow to the head.

i took the oil plug out but, what would be the best way to plug it cuase it was water that came out.cause if thats the case i will go ahead and the head off tonight, thanks hon2984
Look in the FAQ forum on the F22b1 head swap, you will see how he talkes about the block being redesigned in 94 by addling a ledge where that coolant jacket is. He used JB weld! But I would still plug it, u dont want to overheat on the highway because your fake weld blew out!
