i have a 95 accord lx 2dr. now my car does not have a sunroof so i was wondering if i went out and bought everything i needed to put in a sunroof, how much am i looking to spend about,on having it put in,also where would i go,a body shop,or a customizing shop?
it's not worth your time/money to get a sunroof installed on your car man. to get a oem sunroof you need:
new roofcap
sunroof headliner and cover
the sunroof motor sunroof and trim peices
and possible a part of a wiring harness to control the sunroof along with the sunroof switch
work involved:
cutting off your old roofcap, grind off any of the excess metal
spotweld on the new roofcap
attach the motor and all the accessories to the sunroof and install it to the track,
might have to cut out both front and rear windshields
reinstall the headliner and paint the roofcap to match the cars paint.
you're looking at parts in the high hundreds possibly the thousands depending on if you get the parts from a junkyard vs new and probably about 2500 in labor for wiring, fabrication, general labor, troubleshooting, etc.
my advise: sell your car, or trade your car for one with a sunroof

I got an estimate for my 98 accord and it was $1200 for a motorised unit and took a whole day.....
included new roof liner
steel insert for reinforcement
hew head liner
no glass removal or repainting required

just double checking, so the $1200 covered all parts needed and labor (basically you took your car and $1200 gave them your car and the next day they gave it back to you with a sunroof)
The OEM set up would require custom bodywork to not only cut the roof, but roll the lip required. Even IF you could find a Body Shop with the expertise, the cost would be prohibitive.
A Motorized Aftermarket Sunroof would take up a lot of headroom. That's why most of them are pop-up.

Pretty much it but I never got it since the trans could not be repaired properly......

We had an ASC sunroof installed on our '95 Accord V6 LX back in the day before my dad took delivery of the car from the dealer. It was rock solid for the 3 years we had the car (no leaks, mechanical issues, etc). The car was also involved in a bad accident (t-boned by a lady running a red), causing extensive damage, and it still worked.
