Is this an automatic or a standard?
Am I correct by your discription that the starter doesn't respond or is it that the starter will spin the engine, but it won't fire? which?
P
Ignition Switch (electrical portion)
Clutch Over-ride Switch (Clutch Pedal Hanger mounted)
And (of course) wiring.
Assuming the car isn't alarm equipped with a starter interupt module, I would suggest this.
1) Solicit the help of a friend or "significant other"
2) Test the Starter circuits by going directly to the Starter Solenoid and using either a test lamp or a multimeter, probe the Starter Signal Wire and verify it's energized when the key is turned to the "start" position.*
IF it (the test light) responds, you've got a defective starter solenoid/starter (traditionally replaced as an assembly)
IF it (the test light) doesn't energize, I would move upstream and check if the system is energized on both sides of the Clutch Over-ride switch**. Disconnect the connector at the CO/RS and jump the terminals with a paper clip. *
If the starter responds, the switch is kaput!
If it doesn't, entertain the thoughts of replacing the Ignition switch (Electrical Portion)

*Tranmission in neutral PLEASE!!

P, I don't know how you handle this crap.........must come with lots of experience dealing with the public eh!
Sounds like the starter is spining but isn't engaging........
yea the rotor button is spinning you ******* then another crank the starter kickes in then it starts and after it the engine is hot it starts fine
The rotor cannot spin without the starter first engaging and spining the flywheel, timing belt, & finally the cam. That is what turns the rotor. If I'm the *******......I don't think what you should be called is socialy exceptable on a public foum. I think you beater do some more reading into the basic automotive functions.
Anywho I hope P_Adams can help you out....I don't have the Holiday pateince.

look here dude when you turn the key and hold it to start everthing is dead you can hear the rotoer button spinning in the dizzy trust me i goonna get a friend and confirm thats what it is
Yes, it will turn as long as the starter has engaged first. Nothign rotates without the starter moving first. that's all I'm trying to tell you. It may not start but the "starter" still moves first.
Just check what P_Adams sugested you check then go from there.
Oh and FYI the dust cover being destroyed inside the dizzy could cause a problem. There are some sensors in there that could be hindered by pieces of plastic getting in the way of there signals.
