Default 02 Honda Civic - Trunk doesn't stay shut

I bought this car new and have enjoyed it. Recently, my trunk started popping open when I hit a big bump or it makes a dip. Can someone suggest a fix??? I know there's a trunk latch, but is there a particular part that is usually needed to replace so I don't buy something I don't need. Also, can you tell me if it's easy to fix or do I need to take it somewhere.

Thanks!!

Also, my struts and shocks are bad ( I think! ) so can someone suggest a brand of strut and shock for me. I have a mechanic friend who can put them in for me....

Thanks again!!

Happy New Year!
