Transmission not lighting
The lights on the transmission/SHIFTER are not working on my 2003 EX. Can I fix this myself? No serious accidents on this.
So I posted this a few months ago but I realized my problem may be more circuiting issue. My two 12 outlets(one near "not an ashtry" bin and one in the center console under armrest) are not working.
Last summer I had cheap plastic charger for some device that I was using in my car. It somehow got stuck in there and I only got it out few weeks ago. Tried the outlet again and it does not work now.
Just found out that there was another outlet in the center console, using that for the first time it does not work either.
So I figure the two outlets and the shifter lights must be on the same electrical circuit. Does this makes sense? If so what do I need to get done?

is it automatic? if so, the light bulb for that light might have been unplugged or there is a problem with wiring.
take the console out and see what happened
if it's manual, why do you need a light?
my accord has that but it's not working right now lol i was messing with it earlier this year and one day i noticed it. even with automatic, you really shouldn't need it anyway lol

It's an automatic. It is nice to have instead of having to look up at the dash to make sure.

i would recommend order from your dealership so you dont have to pay for shipping
i admit that i used to look down to "make sure" to see the lever is in the right position when i drove my car for the first time. it was first time driving to :p
but you really shouldn't have to check where the lever is positioned at since it's an automatic.
PRND4D321 right? not sure about 7th gen's lol sorry.
i personally don't have to look.
EDIT: i really wanna get a stick shift tho...
sorry I misunderstood the question, the PRNDetc is lighted however there is no indication of what gear you are in. Other than the shifter being next to each marking but there is no pointer or a brighter light at each position. The instrument panel shows you specifically what gear you are in.
So a new fuse box would be the fix for the outlets? Thanks I will look into this solution. umm. I guess next question where would I get a new fuse box.

swing by a honda dealer pull up out back of the service shop walk in and the first tech you see hand him 5 bucks and ask him/her to change fuse #32 15Amp fuse in you underdash fuse box. You don't sound like you don't need a whole pack of fuses which would cost a few bucks at least then find fuse 32 then change it for almost lunch money any tech would change it quick like. Even though they would charge you at least 20 buck running it through the shop, 5 cash puts more money in a techs pocket.
Yeah I think that may just be the bulb.

Fuse 32 controls ACC. don't even know what that stands for.
Off to advance auto parts to get that 15amp fuse. And maybe they will help me open the fuse box in the interior panel.
It worked it worked. The 9A fuse was blown. Went to Autoparts store bought a two pack of 15amp fuse for $3.19. The fuse box is on the left where the latch is to pop the hood. Easy to get to and less than two minutes to install.
I wish the light on the shifter was connected to a fuse also. But based on the advice above it seems I will have to get a new bulb and have someone put that in.
Thanks.
