Little "bump" on my fender
Well, I got to leave work today to go home and see the family for Christmas, on the way back in the "new" EF and I had to stop on the side of the road to pee, well when I went to take back off, I killed it. Starter is bad so I had to push start the beast in slippers, that didn't work to well, so I took the slippers off and did it in my socks. Got it running good, then I noticed a bad shaking coming from the front driver side tire. The passenger side cv was recently changed before I bought the car, and with 278k miles on it I figured me push starting the car out of the grass onto the road might have knocked the already failing driver side cv out a little bit. The shaking stayed until I pulled onto the property where the rig was at(I work on an oil rig) and I was thanking God that I made it with no mis-haps. I was booking it down the dirt road(I know cv's dont like dirt, especially bad ones) but I just wanted to make it there, and I could change the axle out tommorow or the next day. I make a left turn down another dirt road, and am cruising along, when all of the sudden the driver side front of the car hits the ground, and I see the wheel keep going off into the woods. I wasnt but about 300 yards from the jobsite
.
Crap, I thought to myself, got out, and looked at the damage. Fender is pretty much gone, not much damage to the rotor. Turns out, guy I bought it from didnt tighten up the lugs enough, ended up breaking 1 stud totally off, another half way. Walked to the job site, had them bring the forklift. Lifted the car up by the driverside motor mount with a chain, found 1 lug on the ground, pulled one off the back, mounted the tire back on...and no shaking! haha, NOOB.
