Default cv axle problem

okay so i bought a 92 prelude about 2 weeks ago, met the guy i bought it from at a gas station, looked it over, everything seemed to be fine, gave him the $1300 and went on my way, well in the highway on the way home, the front end started to vibrate vigorously, got home and found that one of the beads on the passenger side tire had busted and warped the tire, so went and bought a new tire, replaced it drove it for 1 day, next day the tie rod on the driver side went out, so once again went bought a new one and replaced it, drove it for about a week. Now here is where im at now, yesterday i was stopped at a stop sign, went to turn left onto the street i live on, i hear a loud BOOM, almost like a gunshot, so i thought one of the tires blew, i pulled over, hopped out and didnt see any flats, BUT i did see where the passenger side tire was turned in about 3-5inches, got in the car and drove about 30ft. to my drive way, the whole way there all i heard was *thump thump thump* got it home put it up on some jack stands, and low and behold the castle nut on the lower ball joint had came completely off, and my cv axle popped out of the tranny. I walked back up the road where the nut had fell out and found it, but now I can't seem to set the cv back into the tranny. I can't really say if its going in 1/2 way or what because i cant see anything because of the boot and i really dont want to have to dropped the tranny, but the axle doesnt seem to be going in all the way, when i try to set the ball joint back into the socket the ball joint sticks out about 2inches too far and i cant get it back in. can ANYONE help on this?

The way the cv axle works is that there is 4 spider joints on the inner, if it pops out it will not be able to set properly and it will cause your issue. You either need to redo the joint with a new band or just get another cv axle.

So just spending the $75 for a new one is the easiest thing to do? Cause it sounds like thats really the only option i have from what i have read myself from other threads lol.

Save yourself the future headache and replace both the cv axle and the lower ball joint. I did it this past weekend. It was a pita but I'm glad they are done.

I submitted a form to CV source so I guess I'll see what they can get me. I'm not sure on all the specs, since I'm new to the import scene. I do know it has a H23A1 2.3L, non-boosted, not sure what tranny is in it though.
