Default My Fuel Tank Lid SUCKS

Well im in the process of running -8an feed line and -6an return line on my prelude and i had all my parts ordered and ready to go. Well to my surprise i found out that i have basically NO space to work with, im not as lucky as the civic and integra guys. Basically my fuel feed inlet is in the center of the 2.5inch diameter lid. Underneath, the rubber seal gets in the way of where the -6an to -6an 90deg return fitting as well as -6an nut and strat-o-seal.

So i have a few choices here....

1) Since i have all the fittings, what i am going to do tomorrow is take my lid to the mechanics shop we have at work and have a plate rewelded on then drill out another hole in a location i can squeeze the 90deg fitting in with somewhat of clearance.

2) Another idea is to cut the stock fuel inlet and relocate it to the right hand side after having a plate welded on the top of the lid. Then of course, drill out a hole for the return fitting.

3) Last choice is to do what jballou did on his accord...

Anyways, hopefully ill have this all fixed tomorrow as well as installed. Let me know what you guys think if you have any good idea's.

Actually you have plenty of space. When i get home tomorrow ill show you some pics of waht i did. I use twin feeds that go to a -10 before the pump and -8 from pump to the rail. Then i converted the factory feed which is a -6 to work as the return line.. no problems.

Yea i do have enough room, but the way its set up i am going to have to fabricate the lid. The stock return line was RIGHT by the feed line threading so ill have to have this welded over. Anyways, ill talk to the machine shop guys in the morning and im sure ill come up with something clever and fully functional. Post up pics of how you did it ffgeoff, thanks

i made an autocad2000 dwg of the lid if you want it. If your machine shop is gonna fabricate one it should be much easier with the DWG. i Was gonna make an aluminum billet one with fittings on it when i was at z10, before things started going downhill...

yea hook me up wiht the autocad drawing, that would be nice. Well when i said fabricate, i meant having a plate welded over the drilled holes that are there currently. Ill post pictures up tomorrow of how i decided to run everything... if you can send the autocad to jdmh23a@aol.com, thanks
