3 or 2 miles isnt a bigg diffrence .... but if u want 2 fix it... it would be your vehicle speed sensor...go to honda and ask for part #78410-SY0003(make sure itz da right part # i might have writen it down wrong) and it ll cost u a pretty penny or you can get 1 on ebay for 15 - $30 ...but the parts are kinda iffy.... to change it it would be under the thermostat housing w/ a 3 pin connector

That's considered an acceptable variation and well within the range expected.
You'll realize a bigger variation from just the installation of different brand tires. Even two tires of the same published size can have slightly different circumferances, thus traveling different distances for the same revolutions.
Adding or deleting air pressure can make small incrimental changes in speed accuracy.
A high(er) pressure increases the tires loaded radius, thus causes the speedo to read lower (compared to the base sample) than the actual speed.
A low(er) pressure does just the opposite.

Save your money

thanks P Adams you help me alot, and yes i did put a pair of 17" rims on my car and my speed was off by 5 or 6 miles an hour, but those rims got curbed pretty bad (by my brother) so i got rid of them and put my stock rims and tires back on, but if and when i put another set of bigger rims on my car how would i get my speed to be acurate?

You can do anything you want as far as rim (wheel) diameter (15,16,17 and 18 even) as long as you select a tire with the same diameter / circumferance as the original skin.

It's all about the math really. A tire of a certain diameter will have a circumferance of x (remember c=pi x R(squared). Knowing this, the wiz kids at Honda R&D can extrapolate how many turns that tire will make to travel 1 mile. Counting those revolutions as a function of time will give them a velocity value (speed)

No. If the car came equipped with Yokohama 195/65x15's, you can most likely find the tire inflated specs on their website.
For discussion purposes only; viable alternatives could be:
205/60x15
205/55x16
205/50x16
205/40x17
ect
Remember:
205 = tread width in Millimeters
/60 (ect) = Sidewall height as a percentage of tread width
x15 (ect) = Rim (wheel) size

As the rims got larger, the sidewall got shallower. The diameter stayed the same
