Default Full Coilover Set Up: Hard Choice

i have a '92 Accord. ive been looking around and ive grown tired of the suspension i have. i traded some ebay coilovers and $50 for my Dropzone lowering springs. so im at an end pass at what to get. ONLY POST YOUR OPINION IF YOU HAVE RIDDEN IN A CAR WITH THESE INSTALLED OR HAVE OWNED THEM YOURSELF. YOUR OPINION OF WHAT YOUR BROTHERS', MOTHERS, SISTER'S AUNT'S, COUSIN'S, FRIEND OF A BUTT BUDDY MEANS NOTHING!!!!! every experience is different. just because one person out of 5 million others went thru a bad experience with a set up doesnt mean everyone will.

My 1st choice was Function Over Form Type I's. they're at a good price and ive never really heard anything bad about them before. plus they're $200-300 less than the Type II's:

The 2nd Choice was some D2's. $200 more than the Type I's but still good quality and once again, havent heard anything bad about them.

My final choice was some Ground Control coilover sleeves and some nice struts?(Koni, Tokico, or KYBs).

i dont want info or opinions on any other set BUT these. i can care less what your Tein's matched with Koni Yellows felt like. im asking about these and THESE only.

Please don't pay attention to any of the suspension threads available on Honda-Tech, HondaSociety or AccordinglyDone I'm sure there is absolutely nothing of value in them.

i would just go for price and a full coilover setup, when you just mix and match shocks and springs the rates may not work well together, coilovers are made perfectly matched to each other so they just simply work better, mixing matching bad rates could end up with bad ridessss

an actual intelligent answr. finally. lol. other than TheMuffenMan's post.

thats one reason why im kind of iffy on going with the CG's and Konis or Tokico's. i dont wan to match them up and get a bad combo then thats(what i just priced) basicly $600 on the struts alone then another $400 for the CG coilovers.

Yeah but if you do your research and buy the correctly valved konis for the spring rates you chose on the ground controls, then you KNOW you have the correct setup.

Most of these lower priced full coilovers (D2 / K Sport / etc) are just high spring rates mated with a crappy strut/shock.

Everyone gets them and is like oh wow they are so stiff, soo good. Then a year later if its a daily driver they have the SAME ride quality (stiff) but all four struts are leaking cause they are blown. They were incorrectly valved for such a high spring rate.

So a cheap coilover is basically a high spring rate with no dampening.

Ground Control/KONIs are a proven set-up, unlike the D2s and Functions. Additionally, whoever is talking about not getting the appropriate spring rate combo, GC dealers usually ask how you want your ride to be and they help you determine what spring rate is best for you. You guys have no idea what you're talking about.

Haha glad you took my response in stride.

Those threads are full of information - namely the AccordinglyDone in the Stop,Drop, and Roll section.

I went through that thread for about 6 months along with others before making my purchase and have been pleased with it.

GC and Koni Yellows is what I went with - and have been tweaking the spring rates since that purchase over 3 years ago. If PIC made and Accord application however I'd be going with them.

what do you mean by tweaking? you you get different springs from CG for your set up? do you adjust the Koni's?

Top hats don't exist for the Accord, unless they've come out in the past 3 months or so.
