1997 honda civic cx

i bought this car trusting the person i bought it from that it would be easy to register, well its not. I ran into a paperwork road block and the dmv wont approve it for registration. So i either have to find a clean shell or sell it for parts and i loose all my money. im loosing as it is. i paid 3500 for it. paid almost 300 in fees. THen the dmv says i cant register it. i have the title and all paperwork. Maybe someone that lives in canada or has hook ups with an importer can register it. LMK if your interested and we can work something out. I cant go lower than 3k NO way. its mint and you wont be disapointed. Also has a nice sunroof. It now has stock hub caps. PM me im on here every day.

Hmm just noticed your in Cali might be something with emission regulations since california cars have extra emission controls sensors... that may be the reason, maybe try swapping or complying with the emission regulations once on the car you should be able to register it. A friend of my from ontario just moved there and took both his cars but i think its a different story if youre moving i think he has to get rid of the car eventually after a year is up or comply change things to the car to make it road worthy in california lots of bullshit to deal with in that state. Good luck that's just my guess at this point

He has another thread about this. He wasn't able to register it because the guy that brought it over didn't have the right paper work for it or was missing a form when he sold it to him and now he's unable to register it here in the U.S.

right its not the emissions part. i already took it to the state ref and it passed with flying colors. customs is just having a fit about how it was brought here. its dumb really. they let anyone drive their cars in here anyway without caring but if they decide to sell it its a big deal.

Well yes they want their taxes don't mess with the GOV lol. Anyone can drive the car in to the states from canada I bet the guy that sold you his car relocated to california and then sold you the car afterwards. You have to follow the procedures and you should have found out more info based on if you can just buy it and register the car which you would never be able to do based on the circumstances of the sale. I bought an itr that i broght over from the usa to canada and this is the page that i went on to do research on how to import it riv.ca . There are few forms to fill out it's not hard to do this its simple. Find the page that the usa has on importing cars I think this would be it http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/ read through and get the forms you may have to contact the original seller to get the form since he was the one crossing but i don't know now that you have the title he might not be willing to help but im sure if youd ask and tell him the problems im sure he would do it
