Default civic SI sedan owners!!!

i need your input guys. im considering buying the new SI 09 sedan as a daily driving fun car. not going to do much mods thats what my EK is for. but i was wondering how much you guys paid for it and how you like the car. the idea of a 4 door SI is still strange to me but might be a good thing. i know there's not a mark up on the car price but do you think that they will be lowering it a tad bit if any?
also any complaints about the car??
positive comments about the car??
thanks in advance. if i did get the car it's gonna be Taffetta White

you might be able to get a deal since its getting to be the end of the year and its holiday time. you just gotta hustle the salemen. look around and see if any dealers have some 08's laying around still and you can really get a deal.

recently got the 08 FA5 Red color.
I purchased the last one in the lot and I paid $20,000
No major problem with my car, but since I purchased,
I had problem on my steering wheel making a squeking sound.
I got fixed no more problem.

I love the car.

I get 10% off any Honda and other, but the thought of getting this car when the economy is down. 0% chance.
If I could afford one right now, I'd get it.

I can't stand to drive past the Honda Dealer, and see this car is always staring at me. LoL.

I seen one with basic bolt-ons run a 14.5 in a 1/4 mile. Oooowweeee.

$20.5K

No problems yet. I'd suggest getting a bra for the front, maybe even a clear-bra by 3M, the paint is rather fragile and will get dings and scratches.

You are kindding me with "That's it" right? Three tenths is a lot. Do you know how many pro teams would be happy with one tenth?

Most pro team cars are running at capacity as is.. Thats why one tenth is so good for them. Are cars are slow. I drive an 07 Si sedan and its fun, but fast is not what I would call it... I would totally recommend a clear bra.. My car has roughly 36k on it and the paint has nice rock chips due to it being so thin.. I got mine for 24k out the door with navi and hondacare for 80,000 miles.. I think it was a good deal.. No problems so far

lol I dont considder a car fast until it has atleast 11x traps, who said these are fast? quick? yeah. fun to drive? definitly. Comfterable? i think so. It's a great dd, and with a few small things can be an even more fun dd. I'd recomend it for sure

I've got an 09 SI sedan (in tafetta) after coming from a 97 turbo'd hatch.

It's definately not as quick, but it's much more comfortable.

Wow, that's pretty impressive....Good job to the guy who can take off 7 tenths of a second compared to a "CAR AND DRIVER" pro time of 15.2 seconds with "basic bolt ons". And ask any drag racer at the street level and they will tell you that 10 horsepower is good for a tenth of a second off of your E.T.

So 70 horsepower with basic bolt ons for a normally aspirated car...Yeah right...Keep dreaming people.

I don't know where some of you people get your information from...

I had a 06' 350z with stillen headers, test pipes, 3" dual exhaust, aluminum underdrive pulleys, stillen cold air intake, Skunk 2 Plenum spacer and hks DLI ignition, and a ECU reflash that took my rev limit to 7200RPM....All your "BASIC BOLT ONS" and then some. The car stock was 300 hp at the crank, I dynoed the car and it put 271 to the wheels so that might be good for 325-330 at the crank. So I added about 30 hp on a 3.5 liter V6.

I ran 14 flat stock and 13.8 modified.

People with four bangers smoke crack I think. Despite what people think when you do multiple mods such as intake and exhaust sometimes they are parasitic losses to eachother. You don't just add up all theoretical gains that each mod says it will produce...
Example: Intake says 5HP and exhaust says 12HP....That will not yield 17HP on the dyno. Realistically it may give you more like 10 total.

Bought an 08Si sedan after having a G35 coupe 6speed. I enjoy the SI more in many ways,
especially the gas milage. The car is not super fast, but a fun daily driver. I installed the
HFP suspension and a good ride became much better. I think you'll enjoy it!

All those mods just to drop .2 seconds from your 1/4 mile. I gained just over 20whp with two....count em....TWO boltons. Intake and Race Header.....on a MUSTANG dyno. I also dropped .3 seconds off my 1/4 mile and upped my trap speed by 5mph. I have the dyno sheet, but I don't have a scanner to upload them but I had a thread a while back....some people will remember it.

So depending on the TYPE of mods someone does to their car it could make a serious difference. The exhaust components of the Si are one of the most restrictive parts of power output. Eliminating that RH and adding the Intake makes a huge difference.

The sticker on my 350z said 18 city and 25 highway. The Si's 21 city and 29 highway are only marginally better, you must be saving a ton on gas...The Si does not get good gas mileage for a 2 liter inline four cylinder.
