92 Prelude - VTech header to 2.0 engine?
I'm new at this, so please bear with me.
Just got the wife a 92 Prelude. Has a large hole in the flex pipe. Want to put a header on. Can a header for a VTech be put on my 2.0 engine? If so, what do I need to do to make it all work properly?
Or, is it better to just go stock?
Thanks in advance.

Either way if you really need to have the flex pipe fixed, you can take it to an exhaust shop and they can cut the flex pipe off the new downpipe and put it on the old downpipe.

Make sure of the Year of the Car and the engine size.
The 91 came with a 2.0 and a 2.1. A 92 came with a 2.2 or a 2.3.
You can get an aftermarket header and it will fix your flex pipe problem. Just get the one that is supposed to be for your car and engine.
No a vtec header will not fit any of the other motors.
P.S. Its VTEC not Vtech

Thank you all for the info. For now I guess I'm gonna have a flex piece installed in a local muffler shop and wait till I get a Vtec (correctly spelled) to put the header etc on.
Next week I will put on the Tokico shocks and new lowering spings...former owner cut the spings to lower it!
Just want it to be done right!!
Merry Christmas!

Just got back from my shop where the Prelude is up on stands. The number on the left side of the block is F22 A1. I plan to google that to find all the specs.
Thanks again for all posts.

really?? i thought they only had the H22 and H23... oh well. learn something new everyday.. so is it the same single cam?? or is it a DOHC??
Single cam, identical to the 90-93 Accords. Has a better ECU than the Accord though. Most noticeable upgrade for those is an H23 transmission. The F22 gears are too long for fun
ok well my friend had a 90 Accord with an F22A4... is that stock, or was it changed? he lost control in the rain, and crashed into a ditch full of water, and killed the ECU from flooding out the interior, i knew it was that, because i did the same thing with my 93 Integra. when i went to the yard to get a new one, all i could find where F22A1 CB7... i got an ECU from one of them and it worked, but the car ran a little rich at idle... he has since sold the car, but i always wondered if he had i different engine. could that be?
Another thing I am having trouble finding is "wheel arch panels". This Prelude has a little cancer over both rear wheels. Does anyone make repair panels for these?
