timing belt replacement question
92 accord
all timing marks line up except the rear balancer.
THe dot on the gear is at 12o'clock and the notch is at about 7 and there are paint marks that line up when in this position.
I have read where the dot is supposed to be at 5oclock but cannot get it there. This engine was rebuilt once. Will this position be OK? or do I need to do something else.
Also how much tension should be on the belts and should the rear balancer lock pin remain in place when tensioning?
Thanks

the line points to 5 o'clock. It turns 3 times before the shaft completes one revolution. if you turn the gear until the line is at 1 o'clock, then let go of the gear, it should turn by itself twards the 5 o'clock position.
FIveten,
Thanks for the response. I turned it several times and can insert the lock pin in when the dot is at 11:50, 2:50, 5:50, and 8:50.
Should I set it to the 5:50? It looks like about at least 1/2" to 3/4" off from the picture in the book.
The person that rebuilt it apparently had the dot set at 11:50.
Thanks for any help - I would sure like to get this old car out of my garage and not have to bring it back in and tear it back down.
