Default pump gas to race fuel

is there anyway to have a car tuned for 93oct for low boost then have it tuned for race gas with high boost, like having a fuel cell in the trunk filled with race fuel that feeds in to the regular gas lines and when you want to run high boost you could turn off the regular gas from going to the motor and turn on the fuel pump for the race gas then just race race gas will be going to the motor?

Just turn the car off and put the other chip in it...?

Yes. You can divide the tank, etc. It totally depends on your budget, engine management and fab skills.

Just another question.

Say my car was tuned for 15 and 22 psi, both on pump gas (94), and as soon as we started tuning the fuel/ign tables OVER 22psi we switched to race fuel.

I could just keep the boost at 15 or 22 when i have pump in the tank, and it would read from cells that were tuned using normal fuel, and than when the boost is turned to like 28 or 35 it would read from cells tuned with race fuel?

You dont need a WHOLE new map right?

Just wondering exactly how this is done, I know EMS's that use nitrous control can switch maps, but im not sure if this is done for low/pump gas and high/race gas tuning or if they share the same maps.

Thanks!

so if you have a turbo setup and your on low boost you would use pump gas but how would you switch to high boost to run with race gas? how would your car know your on high boost and your running race gas?

It would know your on high boost because the map sensor would see more pressure and it would read from different cel's of your ign/fuel maps. Cells that have values used for race fuel. It would just have to assume you have race fuel in the tank, since you wouldn't be running higher boost unless you did.

Maybe if you dont plan on running high boost, you could set your boost cut just above your pump gas boost level, and than change it easily when you run higher boost. Just incase you have problems with creeping or spiking or boost control problems entierly.

You would control the boost using your EMS or a good boost controller.

I could be way off on this though?

By far the best way of doing it is to run a program that supports map switching using an ECU input.

That way when you have pump gas in the car you can run off the first set of maps. Then when you want to run race gas you just flick the switch to your secondary maps that are tuned for race gas.

You guys are kind of over analyzing this.

For example. With NepTune you can control boost with the ecu via PWM and also switch maps with the same input.

So you put in race gas, switch maps via your input and it will turn the boost up and switch to your tuned race gas maps.

could you do this with hondata s300 and you would need a boost controller right? then the hondata would send your motor the race fuel tune when it sees that the boost is turned up

Yes. Hondata S300 also has this feature.

You can even do this with Crome and this item from Xenocron. Put two bins on one chip. Just ground that wire and it switches from one ROM to the other.

Apparently it doesn't do it seamlessly though, you should turn your car off when switching.
