My Car Wont Go In Gear 2 Reverse
So my 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear works fine. When I try to go in reverse, it wont go in at all. The stick just goes into 4th. I am like at 172,000+ miles on the same stock clutch it came with. Does that mean it is just replacement time?
Sounds more like a transmission issue. I know these transmissions don't exactly have bulletproof syncros on reverse, that'd be the first place I'd look.
Ya def sounds like tranny problem..if it was the clutch you would not be able to get it into any gear..sounds to me like you lost your reverse and the tranny needs a rebuild...clutch will only be the problem if it is not engaging or is engaging late..but since you only have the problem with reverse...def sounds like its time for a tranny rebuild..
Maybe I described it wrong. It wont go in reverse at all. Like reverse is locked shut. When I try to, the stick will just slip over into 4th gear. I am just hoping it is just a new clutch and thats it.

I would remove the center console and inspect the shifter and the linkage.
Edit: At 172k, you are likely due for a new clutch. Although I doubt that it's the cause of this problem.

Ok bro...If it was your clutch it would either not grab until really late, or not grab at all. since you still have 5 of the 6 gears working fine, there is a problem in your tranny...and or the linkage...like said above...look at the shifter and linkage see if something looks wrong..but most likely your tranny is shot...Not just the clutch...I am sorry to say but I had to change my clutch and my problem was it would not engage until really late..If you lost reverse that really means that you are having tranny problems and not the clutch..
