93 prelude tranny!!!????
i got a question i have a 93 prelude wit a h23 block and h22 head and my tranny the 5th gear its fukd up so i wanna swap it so my question is wut tranny can i use??? thanks......
So you wanna make a G-series.....You can use the f-series, but it'll be a bitch to maintain. I think you'll have to change the water pump and plug a couple of oil drains. Ive heard that you can never get the same compression ratio as an h-series, or high revs, but this swap can be done. I have seen people use the accord/prelude trans and an h22 head but it doesnt make as much power as a complete H-series. If you buy this months issue of Import Tuner, they talk about using honda h22a/f22a and even show succesful swaps. Your best bet, financially and time wise would be sticking to the H-series.
Any 94-97 accord tranny, any H series tranny except SH will bolt right in! NO MODS REQUIRED! The only difference is the gear ratios. Accord trannys work well on turbo cars.
