1990 honda civic wiring problems
i pulled a wired lose from the B plug on the ecu.. it is a Green wire with a black stripe..the wire came out by mistake..i dont know which pin hole it goes back into because the pin is still on the wire..i have a obd0 car setup for b16..someone please help..im lost
they usually have a different mark besides of be green with a black stripe, it could also have 2 silver dots or only one , if u have one that is green with double black dots instead of a stripe could be your purge control valve wich usually wont throw any code and wont affect performance depending or ur vaccum system. check for that, or u can take pics of ur ecu plugs and the wire and i may be able to tell u.
...the picture tells you exactly where it goes!
If you look at connector A you have the two references: the first is the pin location and the other is the picture.
A12 and A14 are both Green/Black.
If you look at the plug and one of the Green/Black wires is missing from one of the two locations; put it back in the proper location.

^^^ if you read his original post he mentions he pulled it out of the B plug. The A plug has larger pins so the wire won't work in the A plug anyway.
I have some schematics that say it goes in B6. If you look at the top of the black connector you'll see a 1 on one end and a 10 on the other. The pin numbers run from left to right so count over from the left to pin B6 and that's where you'll need to put it. The wire is for your shift position console switch. I'm pretty sure it's for automatics only, but to simplify things Honda made all the harness they could the same so even manuals have them.
If you get confused pin B5 is open and pin B7 is a blue wire with a white tracer. Good luck. I can snap a pic of my harness if you need.

ECU/engine wiring for the 88-91 si and 88-91 dx/std civic in my Chilton manual. It's about the only thing I use it for anymore! lol.
Yeah didn't mean to be rude. Sorry.

I'm using the factory Honda manual and there's no reference to a Green/Black in connector B.
That’s why I assumed connector A…
Don’t worry about it. I have my manual here at my desk - I feel like it’s the only thing I read anymore!

the only thing i was thinking you could do since i didn't see a green/black wire on the b plug was maybe correspond which wires were connected to your plug to this one and the one you were missing then that is where it would go.
Man...lol u guys are awsome...it was b6 input hole..when i went to put the pin back it still had some greenish..plastic were it came lose...lol i got to use the forum more often...thanks and merry christmas
