Icon2 b18c5 swap...gsr head?! help!

i have a 91 crx si and was interested in buying a b18c5 swap i saw in an ad the other day but when i went to go look at it the seller told me the original type r head was leaking so he rebuilt a gsr head with the type r internals. The deals almost too good to pass up, so i was wondering what kind of hp or torque loss/gain i'm looking at or how this head is going to affect my engine performance?

it is gonna bump up your compression... so you'll be gaining a little hp... it should work out nicely...

well, that and you will be losing a bit of hp, compared to the type-r head, because the gsr head does not come slightly polished from the factory.

thanks for the quick reply... yea i was thinking it would but after reading that a type r head was a built and polished b16 head i second guessed myself... so i should just keep that head on there? or should I try to get my hands on a real type r head? I'm for sure getting the swap now though. I mean its a steal for 2200

i'd just stick with whatever he gives you. the gsr head has great flow characteristics and is capable of some power. you would end up spending a lot of unnecessary money by getting a type-r head when you could be spending that money for something else.
