10 year old oem pump on my ek4

any problems or signs that indicate fuel pump is on its way out

had couple things happen recently, 1 was today just driving normal for several seconds and 1 on track few weeks ago which happened 3-4 times, i wont say exactly what until i get opinions but pretty much like fuel was being cut of

cant afford to just go out and buy new pump and then find not the problem

 

Well, if you won't describe the symptoms besides a "fuel cut", there could be many possibilities.

Replacing the fuel filter is never a bad idea. As far as the fuel pump is concerned, you may begin to hear a whining sound when its on its last legs.

basically problem only occurs on sharp bends, on road i experienced it for 1st time today, sharp bend at about 25-mph and car suddenly started stuttering for couple seconds on the bend so let of throttle, onto straight and problem still there for few seconds but started to imporove, few secs later and all fine

on track i had same thing happen about 3-4 times (again 1st time i ever experienced this bt happened to be on track), sharp bend which also had adverse camber and same problem of car almost cutting out, after several secs on straight and all fine again, happened few time at same bend and few other sharp bends, never happened on straights

plenty of fuel in car (had lot less fuel in past, car pushed harder and no problems)

absolute no problems starting car, hear pump prime etc
