uhh the D15Z1 is not much different than your stock D15B7. It has VTEC-E and thats about it. What year is your car? If it is a 1992 then it comes prewired for VTEC and it will be plug and play. I believe you will need the ECU for that motor, so look up which one it is, im not sure the code. If your car is not a 1992 then you will need to wire up VTEC, theres articles around here that can teach you how to do it. I think thats about it, just connect everything up and i dont see what else you could be missing. Good luck
Are you kidding? The D15Z1 is a lot different than the B7 engine; it is far superior.
I have a feeling that you are going to face some problems unless you have an egr control box. The fuel line to the rail is also different if your engine doesn't have one you'll need one. There seem to be very few egr control boxes left. P07 ecu's are still around.
If it were me, and as I do have plans to get a low mileage Z1 myself soon, I would tune it and do away with egr, then youo can probably squeeze out a few more mpg.

Yeah i thought the fuel line wouldnt fit,and is it true if i get a different TB i wont have to get a EGR control box?
thanks for the repiles guys

Not true.
The only thing you really are trying to satisfy is the ECU with the egr box (and emissions). I'm not sure what kind of signal goes back to teh ecu, but I've never heard of anyone being able to bypass it.
The solution (without egr components) - buy a wideband O2 with analog out, P28 or vtec capable ecu and chip it. Buy an ostrich from moates.net, and a license of ectune (or crome of you can handle quirks and inferior software).
Of course that means learning to tune, but you can definitely get better economy than stock.
I think some have figured out how to make the egr out of piecing other honda egr parts together.

The Z1 also has a OEM WIDEBAND O2 sensor that just about everyone forgets about!!! Plus on my Z1 some dumbass swapped IM's and the car runs like **** and gets really shitty mileage because of this!!!!!!!!!!! But I have a Z6 going in it real soon so no worry's there but Z1 is a great lil motor if your just doing it for a beater/daily.
