Post up your Mig'd Roll cages... Tips welcomed as well
Well ive come to the conclusion that i will need a cage for my car. shooting for Mid 10's. dont plan on going any faster ill be happy with that time. this car is a cruiser and weekend warrior. I know the Rules require me to have a 6 point cage. i was thinking about getting one from the safety sponsor. i have been mig welding for 4 years on a RV production line. I mostly do welding on 3/8" to 5/8" plates. i know the floor board of the car is very thin so i can imagine its easy to burn through.
Any tips for miggin the floor board of the car to the plates?

yes bolting the plates to the floor is legal as long as there is another plate on the bottom side. and of course you have to use 4 bolts that are at least x size. the two plates for the hoop and the two plates for the a pillar bars can be bolted down like this, but if i recall correctly, the two rear plats have to be welded.
Keep an eye on the undercoating under the car as well. It will burn and can catch on fire. It would be good to have a person keep an eye on it while you are welding in the car. Just keep a spray bottle with water handy.

True, also may want to open all the doors and trunk and put a fan in the back on low to suck out the fumes when welding to the floor. Sometimes you may have a little seam sealer in an area you cant get to or near the weld area and it starts to smoke you out. You may need to adjust your gas flow to compensate. It is definately nice like Redline130 said to have an extra set of eyes.
^^^agreed, when welding in the bars to the plates, the floor caught fire, you HAVE to have a helper, its much smarter. and yes, my back plates are welded in
