Based on the symptoms, I would check first the ignition switch, then the ignition coil. Also consider the oxygen sensor. How old is the O2 sensor in your car now? Is the O2 sensor OEM?

Are there any stored codes?
It's obd0. you can almost run without the 1-wire o2 sensor on these engines. they don't affect the engine that much like if it were an engine with obd1 or obd2 electronics. sounds to me like you've got a distributor going out. that is assuming all connectors are tight, and grounds are in good shape.

which oddly enough is in the dizzy lol. so either replace the ignitor or replace the whole unit. i know at my local advance they are able to test ignitor coils, so if you can do that and determine that it's malfunctioning, you might save yourself some money.

I've had similar problems with mine at one time. Check your vacuum lines at your map sensor, (as long as you're running a firewall mounted map still). The lower hose on my map sensor came off and it sounded just like your problem.
