Default dash lights?? wtf

ok couple days ago i was messing around with my radio and my a/c and dash lights went out..im thinking what ever always happens its just a fuse right? wrong! all fuses were checked and there all good under hood/under dash..tail lights work..cluster works just no backlight..side markers ,corner lights, headlights all work..i checked all the wiring behind the cluster and radio nothing seems out of order or /cut/spliced/bare wire touching..nothing..any input would be apreciated!

Give it a good hit on the dash board

Mine does the same thing when I turn on my fan, all the top lights go out on the climate control...

So your guess is mine right now... I am thinking the climate control is getting old and the connections within it are getting worse... ?

Ill have to subscribe to this one.

Funny thing is, this guy is right. I have two hatches and they BOTH do that. I go to turn the fan on and the backlights go either all the way out or atleast half way out. I just hit down right on top of the climate control and it comes back on

Honda can't seem to get the concept of a long lasting climate control, just ask the CRX/EF owners.

apparently people only read half of what was written. You probably had the dimmer wire withing the radio harness come in contact with either ground or 12v depending on which wire it is. peopl always swear that they checked every fue. pull EVERY fuse with a pair of needle nose and visually inspect it. something is blown. good luck

have you tried checking the bulbs to the cluster and climate control.....usually if your messing around with radio and the illumination/dimmer wire touches ground it will short out and fry your bulbs......ive had customers come in all the time becuase they usually dont know what to do with that wire when doin radio installs so leave it untaped and thats what happens.....

I just bought a 93 hatch yesterday and i see they took the radio out and all my dash lights do not work and my tail lights are not working either. But i have the High Beam light working and the engine lights. and the lights that egnoledge that certain heater settings are on. but the heater setting image does not lights up either. not sure if they all have the same problems but im going to try to find out today.

Wouldn't this dimmer wire be for the radio and not for the climate control? I could see someone not taping the dimmer wire from a cd player install but there are no wires with a stock radio that are not covered... This problem does occur in a friends civic with stock radio...
