i have an 01' Accord EX I4. I wanna change my exhaust, but i dont want nothing horribly loud. i saw how one guy added TL mufflers to his accord. is this possible, safe, or should i just go with an aftermarket company?

It's really down to what your budget is and what you want for a look.
For a truely quiet Afermarket Stainless System (Like the Apexi World Sport ll) you could expect to pay over 500.00.
On the other hand, if the TL muffler does it for you; any competent Muffler shop can mount it for you.

I agree on the WSII exhaust. It is very quiet and does not sound ricey or anything (if you keep your cat converter). To get around the ridiculous prices APEXi charges for the cat-back system, make your own! You can get many of the mufflers from the cat-back systems on their own. However, the WSII muffler is currently on backorder EVERYWHERE (unless a local shop happens to have one hiding, if not look forward to a few weeks of waiting). Just get a muffler you like though and have your local exhaust shop make you a larger midpipe. Around 2 1/4" or 2 1/2" would be fine. Usually its less expensive than buying the entire cat-back. Go look for sound clips for different exhausts and see what you like.

Here's a site selling the Apexi WS2 for $450.00

http://www.raceinspired.com/p-443-apexi-world-sport-2-ws2-catback-exhaust-honda-accord-ex-4-cyl-coupe-2dr-1998-2002.aspx

something you might want to consider, considering the quotes you've been getting
