Default Inoperable Dash Lights

Have a 94 Civic EX coupe. The dash and heater lights often dont work unless I bang on the light dimmer switch. I was thinking there is a faulty relay or wiring in that area. Does anyone have any experience with this? I heard this is a common issue among 92-95 civics.

Do you have to take the dash off to do it? How do I get to the switch?

i think you can reach up under the dash and push it out. if not you might have to take the cluster and bezel out and rear in there. but try prying it out with a screw driver first. be sure to put a rag in between the dash and the screw driver so you dont scratch it.

i have a similar situation. only i had to hit the dash not the dimmer switch. only now they wont turn on at all. i think if you take the cluster out you can reach behind it and push it out. not sure on that though. i still have the same issue though. i have checked wires as well and still can't find the issue.
