I need to get my tranny fluid changed y21 tranny and get my clutch bleed, they said prolly 2hrs $75labor rate so $150 + fluids does that seem reasonable ?

damn, your getting rip off, if i live near by, i would just help you out. it's not hard, you can do it yourself. just go to honda and get some transmission fluid and get some dot3 brake fluid from wal-mart and bleed the clutch and ask one of your buddie's to help.

ripped off? no...that's going to be the normal going rate from a shop, IMO. but you should call different places to get estimates, some shops have different labor rates, and with this economy, some might have service specials.

OP, do it yourself....search for DIY's. If anything go buy a honda manual and do it yourself. You'll save $100+ trust me. I believe i have a online honda manual i can upload to you. Im not sure if it goes through changing the tranny fluids though. I'll walk u through both if you'd like, just pm me.

You can change the tranny fluid alone, to bleed the clutch you need another person to help you.

Well I would do it my self but im suppose to get a foot of snow tomorrow, and I live in apartment building and everything in the parking lot is either iced over or god damn wet and cold, plus i got no one to help me bleed the clutch even tho I think from what I read i could do it.

So it leaves me with a shop, and the shop is synapseturbo only 15 min drive, there's a bunch of other shops around down that charge like 60-70hr but synapse has a great rep. I was just wondering if $150 which is 2 hrs rate + fluids sounds about right for a specailzed shop. So i guess I kinda answerd my own question but I'd just figured I'd like to hear other peoples feedback.

$150 is a joke. Just wait for the snow to melt then change the fluid yourself. It's super easy to change the fluid and bleed the clutch. If you feel that spending $150 is okay then do so but I'd rather do it myself and save the cash for something else.

The trains fluid drain and fill is easier than doing an oil change. Try doing it yourself. Buy some Honda MTF. Do the labor for free.

Bleeding a clutch does not take more than 1 person. I've done it by myself. It's not like brakes. You can either use a brake holder bar or just gravity bleed the end of it. Easy.

I can understand if you don't have tools or know what you're doing that you may not want to.

Idunno about $150. Too bad you don't live around the area. I'd do it for around $75ish.
