Financing 91-93 NSX
Never posted here before because i really had no usefull info to post or info to take in......my GSR was stolen recently and now im looking for something more(it was my track only gutted race toy).
My situation is this:
Had my boosted GSR for 5-ish so years and i feel i accomplished everything i ever wanted to and more in it. I love the car and always will. But like mentioned above it was stolen/stripped/recoverd. Basically i got everything back, just dismantled. No biggie really, im parting it out for some good cash, and i suppose ill sell/give the shell to a junkyard.
Thing is, ive got enough money to get a very nice newer car, but ive always wanted to do the alternate route; i.e. not do/have what every one else has. Having said that, a 91-93-ish NSX would be perfect for me. Its not the fastest in a straight line, or best autox car, but i feel this would be a good "weekend car" and an excellent HPDE, or just generall road course car for me.
Im sure getting a used/new S2000 would be simplier, but like i said, i want something not many people have. I understand that financing an older car is very hard or even sometimes foolish, but i want to do this. I work alot, ive saved alot, i feel i need/deserve a reward.
So tell me guys, how did you go about purchasing a 7+year vehicle? I understand a large majority of down payment is due, thats achievable. The banks i talk to dont do more than i think 5 year old, something like that? Do i need to strike a relationship with the local Credit Union?
Keep in mind i havent inquired about anyones NSX, i dont want to waste their time if i dont have the means necessary, or cant get the necessary financial backing just to have a "deal fallen through" thing, i wouldnt want someone doing that to me.
Thanks for any help,
Tony

There are a couple routes you could go:
1) A high line or rare auto financier
2) Lease to own financier
3) Your own bank or credit union
You'll find the first two in a magazine like AutoWeek or The Dupont Registry or Hemmings Motor News.
The NSX makes an awesome HPDE/road couse car. Good choice and good luck!

good luck on your finding the new ride. I wanted to the same but with a 95 and up. After i sell my teg and my hatch. Just keep the truck and go with a used NSX or opt for a new vette.
i also had a 2001 drag 3 boosted GSR. after the car was gone, i decided to get a s2000, and guess what? i miss my gsr so much!!!! there's nothing like boost. S2000 and NSX are just to expensive to mess w/ the motor. I wish i would've kept my GSR. that's just my opinion though.
