i drive a 95 honda accord lx. when the temperature is really cold outside my temp needle points to the blue.my air is hot and the engine is warm,and also even on a sunny day my needle only goes up about a quarter of the way instead of half way. what could be the problem?

 

sounds like your thermostat is stuck open. Let your engine idle until the temp gauge reads normal temp. Then drive on the highway for a while, if your temp drops down to cold then your t-stat is stuck open. If not let us know...

Just don't listen to the one douchecanoe who swears everyone else is wrong except him for saying the temp gauge is not supposed to reach half way. The correct reading if it is a 94-97 Accord is approx 1/4-1/3 of the gauge. So below the half way mark.

 

it is a 95 accord lx so my temp needle only going up 1/4 of the way is normal but what about when its really cold outside and my needle points to the blue even after its warmed up and driven for a while, thats means my thermostat is stuck open? is there a was to properly fix that or do i need to re-place it thank you for all your help
