Default Help, weird issues in cold weather with throttle/braking

hello,

I hate to start one of those threads where its almost impossible to answer but here goes. Where I am from, we are getting some seriously cold weather. Now when I gas the car in gear the car makes a squeek. When i press the brakes and go to a full stop, the car squeeks again. Is it possible that something needs to be lube'd in these categories?

okay??? where is the squeak coming from does it sound like its inside with you like its coming from the pedals? Does it happen when you hit the brakes is it from the front or rear. Is it there all the time like a belt

When I hit the brakes, it sounds like its from the rear. When I am on the gas, it sounds like its from the pedals...

I think it maybe a few things now. I was removing my heatshield on my y7, and now, 1 side of it (the block/header side) is still stuck. Or my suspension has been squeeking in the front drivers side for the past 2 weeks and goes away when the temps are warm. It could be a suspension bushing? What do you guys think?

You think Toronto is cold right now? Come to the 519 where I am right now haha

Honestly though, cold weather does bad things to cars. Every year when it gets cold, my exhaust starts leaking somewhere, for example. My car makes all kinds of noises now...suspension, engine, exhaust. It's so discouraging...

So yeah, I feel your pain. Good luck with your squeeks.

I'd check your belts, Alt, P/S, A/C belts. I know ever since the cold, my Alt. belt squeeks.

I know something should be wrong with the Alt on this car, but I am assuming its a bushing, since the noise only comes when changing gears and then giving gas.

Yes but that also means when you change gears you relive the stress on the belt which could cause it to slip and squeek, and also when you press the gas it could stress the belt out and cause it to squeek, id check that first, it takes 5 min.

Ahhhh I see...thx for the insight. What should I be lookin for when I check out the belts? Is there anything I should/can spray on the belts if I find something?

Check to see if there tight, if not adjust them to be tight. There is belt spray, its like a waxy type of spray that helps squeeks. Check your local autoparts store. Goodluck!
