Default 2001 GSR w/ skunk2 manifold

alright, i'm completely stumped.

i'm working on a friends 2001 gsr, it has i/h/e, and i pulled his manifold and replaced with a gen1 skunk2. the car has almost no throttle response (sputters when giving too much throttle). smells like it's running rich, and well, i can't find any vacuum leaks. i've tried running (out of curiousity and troubleshooting) the stock p72...dies at idle. i've tried a p28 w/ a modded ITR program from my perfectly running car and it runs a lil rough at idle and does like mentioned above..cant give it throttle without it hesitating. am i chasing a non-existent vacuum leak, or is something going on without these IAB's present? i need help!

thanks in advance..

first run at the p28 - no, second time yes..but i'm unsure of how to read codes on obd2 car with obd1 ecu :/

first time running the car was idle to running temperature to check for leaks..tried to rev it at running temp = fail. (no CEL)
second run i didn't change anything at all, ran exactly the same but the CEL stayed on.
third run p72, ran for 2 seconds and died.

Very odd. You can jump the service connector under the passenger dash to check the codes with the OBD1 ecu.

That would be your best bet.

i just burnt a new chip.. disabled iab on stock gsr. no CEL, runs slightly smoother, but still has characteristics of a bad vacuum leak (or something)...i hear nothing, see nothing, and feel nothing.. i'll check it tomorrow after work..

i have a feeling the chip i was running for him (my chip) might have had something enabled/disabled that the gsr needs. i'm running a mild build itr that was tuned probably 3 years ago by me and i cant remember what i did to that program..haha. it feels good on the butt dyno, and looks good on the wideband..

can you elaborate? i haven't touched or unbolted anything on the throttle body..

as a side note, 5 minutes ago i tried running it and unplugging one sensor at a time, it all ran the same with iacv unplugged, then iat, then map, then when i unplugged the tps, it died.

it has burnt A LOT of fuel..had a quarter tank the other night, after being run for maybe 30 min total it's ON E.

Sounds like TPS and MAP backwards.

The center wire on the TPS plug should be red/blue. (or blue/red, i cant remember)

ended up burning 3 bad chips, somehow they just went bad. i busted a brand new one out and burnt stock itr and it ran perfect.. took a while to burn off all the extra fuel in the intake manifold from being run rich.

thanks for the suggestions though guys.. i feel retarded. hah.
