Why? Because I got sick of this crap:
That pile of **** autometer a/f gauge is worthless. Little LEDS are stupid.
Here is the apexi unit.
OMG! WTF? Is that a NUMBER??!??! For my air fuel ratio?? YAY!!!!
This thing was only $78 bucks too. It also has a voltmeter, o2 volt reading, and naturally the timer.

Does it read off your o2 sensor like the autometer a/f guage?

apexi says it does but it gives accurate readings when everything is warm..

Yeah, it takes a few minutes upon startup to get a reading.

Its just as accurate as the autometer guage then. Its only accurate on full throttle. No/Part Throttle it won't give you an accurate reading, unless you have a wideband sensor. It is less annoying than the autometer guage though since it doesn't have a light that moves around all the time, but that is what your car is really doing at idle and partial throttle, it is going from full rich to full lean trying to get to stoich. My friend has an autometer guage in his Maxima and its ecu works differently so it doesn't bounce around it stays in the middle or stoich unless he is at full throttle.

I believe that is because the autometer guage reads real time, and the apexi unit is 'smarter' and averages out the signal it gets.
