any one know about dpfi?
so i recently pciekd up an EF for 60 bucks
ive been having problems starting it, which i posed abotu here:
https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/no-start-issue-i-am-honda-owner-again-feels-good-%2460-ef-content-2451624/
and havent gotten any fresh ideas as to what might be wrong.
i dont have a timing light, access to a junkyard or much money to spend, i dropped in new plugs and wires, and corrected the firing order, whcih was going 2134, it sounds like it wants to staart, but jsut plain refuses.
what im wondering about is my "tandem diaphragm"/"tandem solenoid"
i found this:
https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...ghlight=tandem
a post about guys who have jsut clamped the vlave open, and say thet they have cold start/ cold running issues, but not nearly as bad as mine seem to be, think i should be lookign elsewhere for the proiblem?
i havent been able to find much info about them, and my diaphragm is no longer conencted to the arm that actuates the little flapper before my tb (i have tried startign it with the flapper both open and closed)
when i pull the plugs, they smell like gas, but so far as i can tell i have a good strong spark

I would start by checking that the camshaft and crankshaft are timed to each other put the crank at tdc white mark and check the cam gear to be aligned with the head. sounds to me that you have spark and fuel by the way you're describing the situation.
