Went to Jump Car - (IDIOTICALLY) connected battery backwards...
I posted a different thread earlier today, I apologize for not including this obviously important information.... pretend my earlier thread didn't exist for anyone who did read it.
I was trying to jump my '95 civic B16 swap earlier because the battery is absolutely dead dead dead wont hold a charge for 2 hours after a long drive dead.
Just being mindless, I connected the cables backwards to the civic and correctly on my other car. I then turned my other car on. I then noticed the mistake, turned my other car off, and reconnected the cables correctly on the civic. I then turned on my other car and attempted to start the civic, and absolutely nothing happened.
I realize that I potentially fried some sort of circuitry or perhaps blew a fuse. Do any of you know which of these things is likely, as in if I likely blew a fuse, or if I likely destroyed electrical equipment (and if so, which equipment?)?
But... I also recognize that my battery was absolutely dead. So I'm hoping that by some stroke of luck, the deadness of my battery did not allow power to be transfered to my car and "fry" anything....
Any response is helpful! Honestly I'm a noob with car mechanics, and I definitely jumped the gun when I purchased this car (as inexpensive and inconsequential as the purchase was), but nonetheless I would hate to see this be "the end"
Thanks,
Mark
