Default 91 accord wagon 5spd?

Hello people,my name is travis...i currently own a 93 del sol as a DD,but im moving on to this accord. It has a broken timing belt but i have access to a 94-95 vtec engine from a donor accord.

Is this a terribly difficult swap or should i just go H22? i kinda want to stick with the single slam though.

Thanks in advance,Travis.

just finished my sohc vtec swap. many people say, and i agree, this swap was fairly challenging. many say h22 is direct swap. single cam vtec required minor fabricating. Plus the f22b1 is a tiny bit stronger than the 92-93 f22a6. h22 will give you tremendous more power than the f22b1. but i was broke, and chose the f22b1 swap.

you can also consider the f22b, dohc non vtec that is just as powerful as an USDM h23. or you can get the h23 instead.

I had a 92 Accord wagon 5 speed and did the jdm dohc F22 swap. It kicked ***.....made gobs more power than the single cam. It dyno'd well to and made more pwer than the H23. For the buck, i'd do the swap again in a heartbeat!!

It's a bolt in process, can be done in a half day. The "only" mod i needed was to lengthen my p/s hose which cost $30...that was it!

Wiring is plug and play...no vtec......which a lot of people don't realize how much extra torque non vtec make right off of idle. If i'd be cruising in 1st gear at any speed, then step on it, the car would start roasting tires. Also, because it was so effortless to get up to speed, i picked up a 100 clicks more in fuel mileage per tank.

I used the stock ecu, worked great. If anything, it could have used a higher redline.

ok...adding to the list of dumb questions,is the stock engine an interference motor...the guy says it broke a belt, they replaced it but it doesnt have compression on two cylinders...could the timing belt be improperly installed?

yes the h22 will drop right in. 800 bucks for a complete swap is a steal. i paid 1850 for mine back in 03' and it was a auto. if your car is already a stick, then that will save you lots of money and time. although i didn't put it in myself, it seems fairly easy now that i know what i know. the wiring is the pita part from what everyone says. there is pretty much the same room as my f22a6. only mods that you will need is a fabricated p/s line or take it off. the prelude and the accord uses different lines. also, if your using the h series tranny, you can cheat and use the 5th gen accord or the 4th gen prelude tranny mount without having to reweld the mount to the car or redrill the tranny. and just use about 3/8" worth of washers on the driverside to level out the motor.

the far right. note to everyone else reading this. the method using mount trick from the cars i listed only works for the 4th gen accord. other gens would require modifications.
