why would you weld the caps to the head? You can have the cam caps/head align honed if that's what your asking... It's not cheap though and hard to find people who do it, about $300 last i saw, i have also heard of people machine the cam cap and insert a bearing in there...

you got any pictures? it would be nice to see what happened and what caused it to happen. then you can think of what to do to fix it.

i dont htink he is talking about welding the caps to the head. just filling the cap to make up the difference, and line boring back to spec.

depends on how mangled it is, maybe there is enough to take it off of the cap.

you can also have a bearing machined, but is all this worth getting another head done? you have to outweigh costs involved. with all that you may have a bandaided head that for a few bucks more get another head done.

I can never find anyone who align bore cam caps.

I hate the red writing.

how much do you have invested in the head? might be cheaper to just get another head done

Your kinda making RLZ look bad if someone just briefly reads that title. The porting has nothing to do with those cam caps wearing. Its the cam and springs that have an effect on that type of thing.

Seem like the comp cam 59300 has been ruining alot of heads.Ive had the same problem that drove me krazy for 2 months regarding low oil pressure. I use the cam as a pull up bar. From what ive read they can re weld and align hone the cam journal. Iould suspect that is alot of $$ to spend on a d-series head.

you can buy a new assembly with roller rockers, or use a y5 head that comes stock with roller rockers.

Doesn't the cam have to have different profiles to run roller rockers. I might not be right though.
